Coast Guard suspends search for two men off Gold Beach, Oregon

SEATTLE - The Coast Guard has suspended the search for two men who went missing after the motorized catamaran they were on capsized Sunday night near Gold Beach, Oregon.

The Coast Guard ended its search for a missing swimmer Monday, after a Longboat Key Police department boat crew located and recovered a deceased individual who reportedly matched the description of the missing swimmer, Abhigyan Patel, one mile west of Anna Maria Island.

Coast Guard ends search for swimmer near Anna Maria Island

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Coast Guard ended its search for a missing swimmer Monday, after a Longboat Key Police department boat crew located and recovered a deceased individual who reportedly matched the description of the missing swimmer, Abhigyan Patel, one mile west of Anna Maria Island.

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Forrest Rednour (WPC-1129) interdicted 19 aliens aboard a 25-foot cuddy cabin approximately 23 miles west of Point Loma, California, Thursday.

Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk returns home to Key West, Florida after 75-day maritime border security patrol

KEY WEST, Fla. — The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk (WMEC 913) returned to their home port in Key West, Friday, following a 75-day maritime border security patrol in the Windward Passage, Florida Straits and Caribbean Sea. During the patrol, Mohawk’s crew deployed to the Coast Guard Southeast District (CGD-SE) area of responsibility, where crews conducted multi-mission operations with joint service, international, and interagency partners to protect America’s maritime borders from illegal drug trafficking and prevent unlawful alien migration in the region.

Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Valdez received the initial report of the containers from Gulf of Alaska Keepers, a non-profit organization funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Response and Restoration's Marine Debris Program for removal of marine debris.

Coast Guard achieves historic milestone with offload over 76,140 lbs. in illegal narcotics at Port Everglades

MIAMI – The U.S. Coast Guard achieved a historic milestone with the offload of 76,140 pounds of illicit narcotics, valued at $473 million, marking the largest quantity of drugs offloaded in Coast Guard history, in Port Everglades, Monday.

Coast Guard rescues man from downed aircraft near Haines, Alaska

JUNEAU, Alaska — The Coast Guard rescued a man from a downed aircraft near Haines, Sunday. At approximately 8:30 a.m., watchstanders at the Coast Guard Arctic District Command Center in Juneau received a signal from the aircraft’s Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) transmitting in the Chilkat mountains, approximately 35 miles south of Haines.
